Based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ben Stapp is in the middle of a vibrant career utilizing his specialized skills in business and entrepreneurship.
For many years, Ben served on the staff of the MN Adult & Teen Challenge, a recovery program for individuals to repurpose their lives, heal from their addictions and gain the resources that would make it possible for them to turn from addiction for good. Ben’s roles in this program included him being a licensed drug and alcohol counselor, clinical supervisor and director of outpatient services. As he grew in stature in this work environment, his responsibilities became more technical.
In his beginning years, much of his focus was on providing counseling services, leading psychoeducation training and supervising counselors. In later years here, however, Ben Stapp began gaining leadership over the program’s budgeting and staffing management. Although he initially set out to impact others through his knowledge of substance abuse and addiction counseling, Ben soon was handed more opportunities as a direct result of his apparent leadership skills and ability to influence others positively.
Through his daily tasks, Ben grew many critical skills that are needed by those seeking a career in business and entrepreneurship. Management and leadership took on a whole new meaning for Ben, who had previously exercised more one-on-one leadership. As he progressed in his career, he began tackling organizational leadership and growing the program to new levels. Ben Stapp played a key role in his organization’s budget, as his forecasts and strategic growth plans were able to further support its goals. Having grown in this organization, Ben was able to spot areas of growth and develop a vision that would further support its mission. He has experience in bringing these visions to fruition, entering into a viable market and implementing systemic change.
All of these skills would serve him well as he transitioned into a role with a new organization, Kyros Recovery, in January of 2022. Although he had served well in his previous organization, Ben felt it was time to transition into a new role. Nowadays, he bears the title of VP of Business Development at Kyros, the world’s first sobriety management platform. At this company, Ben Stapp is able to support many of the previous goals he was aiming to achieve while working on innovative approaches to mental health care. He and his team work tirelessly to remove barriers to recovery and provide a simplified approach to drug rehabilitation under this one platform.
Ben feels fortunate to still be working in a field that impacts the community and mental health care while also exercising his skills in business growth. Alongside his career, he serves this mission in his free time, acting as an Education Committee Chair for the Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MARRCH). Here, he leads monthly planning meetings and plans the organization’s bi-annual conferences.
